Resumo
O crescimento da população mundial resulta na necessidade de aumento na produção de alimentos. Neste contexto, o uso de tecnologias sustentáveis torna-se essencial. Porém, defensivos agrícolas quando aplicados indiscriminadamente, resultam em impactos ambientais e geram malefícios à saúde humana, principalmente por contaminação de alimentos. O propósito do trabalho foi mostrar os riscos que ocorrem quando não se respeita a legislação de uso de defensivos fitossanitários na agricultura, desde o trabalhador rural que manuseia tais insumos e suas implicações na qualidade dos alimentos produzidos. Numa outra abordagem retratamos a necessidade de conscientização da população a respeito deste tema.
