Resumo
Este artigo expõe conceitos pertinentes à lista de materiais e suas relações com o projeto do produto, estrutura do produto, custos e o MRP. O objetivo é apresentar a importância de definir e organizar os itens que compõem a BOM. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa bibliográfica, a fim de buscar relações relevantes da lista de materiais com outras áreas que requerem desta ferramenta, informações concretas para o andamento da produção, conforme as especificações de projeto. Como método de pesquisa, realizou-se um estudo de caso que apresenta a reestruturação dos projetos dos produtos da linha de geradores elétricos, para formação das listas de materiais, e seus resultados, o que proporcionou padronização da organização dos arquivos e documentos de engenharia, agilidade em buscar informações em desenhos técnicos do projeto do produto, facilidade em elaborar listagem de componentes para o controle de inventário e dinamismo para formação das listas de materiais.
