Resumo
A cana-de-açúcar é uma cultura cultivada há séculos e diversas são as formas de manejos utilizados nesta cultura. Desde o aparecimento da cana-de-açúcar no Brasil até os dias atuais, muitas pesquisas e tecnologias foram aplicadas para alcançar o máximo de produtividade que hoje é encontrado nos canaviais. Isso aconteceu por conta da expansão dos canaviais em diferentes estados brasileiro, puxado pela agroindústria que antes pensava apenas no produto final que era o açúcar e álcool, mas que hoje é voltado também para diversas formas de energia como a própria energia elétrica. Com o passar do tempo observou-se a possibilidade da utilização de satélites e alguns receptores de sinais, que poderiam de forma bem simples contribuir em diversas operações agrícolas, diminuindo custos e resultando em maior produtividade e eficiência nas operações mecanizadas, promovendo sustentabilidade aos sistemas de produção agrícola.
